Greek Life

The best way to understand Greek life is to be Greek yourself! At Virginia Tech, our Greek community prides itself on its special qualities, characteristics, and amazing experiences that last beyond the collegiate experience. Every member that joins a sorority is expected to do everything within her power to maximize and extend her potential while at college. During this time, Greek organizations invest a great deal into ensuring that their members are successful, not only on and off campus but in life after graduation. Sorority women are given the backing that they need to meet their own expectations and extend them even further, so that they can truly "Leave a Legacy" of excellence.

For years, a common perception outside the Greek community was that sorority women join the groups only for the social aspects, such as weekend parties and associating with fraternity men. However, this uninformed opinion is beginning to lose its support because in a sorority at Virginia Tech, you can be anything you want to be! You will have an opportunity to make your goals a reality and share them with many friends. Membership in a sorority provides you with an opportunity for personal growth and individual achievement.

Greek life not only betters your time here at Virginia Tech but it optimizes it as well. Please view the tabs at the left for more detailed information on how Greek life promotes leadership, philanthropic endeavors, scholarship, involvement, sisterhood and social development. Additionally, information is provided concerning the Junior Panhellenic Council and ways to become involved via Homecoming Week and Greek Week. The most important thing to remember is that there is always something to do and always a place for you!

To find out more information about events happening in the Greek Community, check out our newsletter section of the website as well as individual chapter websites!

Sorority Members meet weekly at Panhellenic meetings to discuss events and issues in the Greek Community!
